The lcd panel on my old Toshiba A105 S2141 went out (flex problem) and was wondering if I could just grab any old A105 for a replacement. When searching at parts companies, every submodel number has a different part number but I have a hard time believing that.

Solution
Generally, the laptops should use the same LCD screen. The different models of the A105 is specific to the different components, but overall it is the same laptop. For example (and I am making this up) all with the same CPU:

A105 001 = 2GB of RAM + 320GB HDD
A105 002 = 4GB of RAM + 320GB HDD
A105 003 = 2GB of RAM + 500GB HDD
A105 004 = 4GB of RAM + 500GB HDD

A new LCD screen for your laptop will cost $70 with a 3 year warranty. You can search the web for better deals.

I would say first look at the original LCD take note of where the monitor hookup is, and the power hookup for the backlite, also the screw hole locations for the LCD. Next just look on ebay for your laptop make and model and find a screen. Make sure the back looks the same and you should be good. One more thing to consider is if you have gloss or matt screen, and want to get the same.
