I'm currently in the market for a new gaming laptop here in the US, specifically in the Chicagoland area. I have a budget of a maximum of $1600. The laptop would be used for school, gaming, and watching movies. What I want, ideally, is a MacBook-like laptop in terms of quality and appearance with slightly better specifications in terms of graphics and computing power. I absolutely love the screen of the MacBook but I'm not convinced that Intel Iris graphics are enough. I'd love a 14-15 inch laptop with an SSD, optional expandability, great appearance, 1080p resolution minimum, I'd most likely be willing to pay more for a dream laptop. Also, the thinner the laptop the better. I can't be hauling around a 5-6 pound laptop. That's one of the perks to the MacBook Pro that I admire. I just can't stand the Mac OS. I am open to suggestions

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thank you.

The Lenovo idea Pad y series is good, however quite bulky with poor battery life. Try the ideapad t440p, it can come quite powerful with the dedicated GPU and long battery life with the extended battery.

You can actually run windows on a macbook, if that's what you have your heart set on.
