Any CDs that come with the laptop, I am a complete novice when it comes to any kind of laptop please help

he wiped it means he erased (formatted) the hard drive. You will have to buy an operating system (windows). or if you can get a copy there should be a product key on the underside of the laptop on a sticker and will tell you which windows it had ie xp, 7, 8
