Laptop: HP Envy DV6
I spilled water on my laptop, sudden reaction was to tip the laptop and try get all the water out. I turned the laptop off and removed battery before doing so. I decided to blow the keyboard bits where the water spilled to get it out and some of it did come out which I dried out. After I did that I turned the laptop back on like dumbass and some things were faulty. It started with saying that o audio device was installed Then two of the keys didn't work. I formatted the pc and after a couple of hours, turned it on and two different keys didn't work. So I tried to turn off pc and give it rest but it wouldn't turn off. It would just constantly restart so I jus took battery and ac supply out. Tried turning it on in the morning and it wouldn't. No fan turned on or anything, no reaction when I press the boot up button.

Sent it off to HP and they said it's not covered by warranty and hence sent it back to me saying it had water damage. Fair enough. I asked for their quote and they said £488 and my mind was blown and I couldn't stop thinking about anything but that for a couple of weeks.
I didn't do anything about the laptop for a couple of weeks and yesterday I took it to currys knowhow to get them to have a look for £50 (for check and labour, non refundable unless they can't fix it). I was reading reviews on Knowhow and I haven't read a single positive review anywhere. Everyone is saying they are terrible and most people come back saying their laptops come back with no fix etc and it's just a huge mess. I am extremely stressed at the moment due to this. I am just trying to save money as I am low on money.

I would like to know what could be faulty if power button doesn't work, few keys and audio. Guesing the problem is with the mother board. How much could that cost as I will have to pay for the parts and am very worried about it? Will my HP warranty be affected by me getting it repaired y knowhow?
Thank you for the help

Person I know did that. 1st thing is you should put it some form of ziplock bag and put rice in it with the laptop facing down but open. Rice will draw what's left of any water at all in it. He ended up having a issue with the keyboard and I think 1 usb port. No biggy since he had another port that was working and could use a external keyboard. You need to let it sit in the sealed bag for a few days or so. Longer the better.
