Which camera is better?

Short Answer: If your buying them used, the Nikon D40 is the way to go.

Your correct, the Coolpix P510 isn't a DSLR. It's what you would call a 'Bridge' camera, or 'Ultrazoom' camera. Their photo quality are usually just a step above Point and Shoots, for someone who wants a lot for the best price. However, the D40 is going at really good used prices, much lower than the Coolpix. Plus, if you need larger zoom, you can always just get another lens for the DSLR. The Coolpix is going to be a lot lighter and smaller though.

Did you use Panasonic national brand is more powerful you get from there. i have use it many time believe I love their result . In my community most of the use is Panasonic.
