Can I replace it with a different brand screen?

You can buy screens just about anywhere, I buy junk laptops for parts like this and save a lot money.

I have tried this and other links for a couple of months and they have been sold out. The best I found was a screen on ebay for $999.00.... crazy.

I wonder if I can use a different brand or type of screen.

Dude that is a rip off, I got two 15.6 led screens for $10 each so go somewhere else and they don't have to say acer on them as almost all screens are by LG ect. Any 15.6 LED screen will work!

I found many screens that are the same size and specs but the frame and screw holes are not the same.
