bios update failure

I updated my bios using winflash ,I followed instructions but when my computer boots it only boots to the bios setup screen and no further. My notebook is an Asus X55A running Windows 8 any help would be appreciated

Check the boot order in BIOS and the SATA setting (IDE or AHCI).

The IDE or AHCI boot order is greyed out and are set at hard drive port 0, dvd rom is port 2 but no option to change

Why did you update the BIOS? Any issues before?

If inserting a bootable DVD (like Windows or similar), does it boot from?

did u try the reset to default option(some call it load defaults, some call it setup defaults) usually on the last page with the save and exit option. that will reset all the config to defaults even if they are greyed out usually
