I think we have the same problem. The charging cord is not making contact with the port, so the battery is not getting any power to charge it. The Asus laptops seem to be poorly constructed, and very poorly glued together! Try wiggling the plug in until you see a light come on that shows it's charging. Or like I must do, put it on it's side at an angle, (I use my laptop cooler which makes the cord go in at an angle to the port.) I put a heavy book on top of it, so the charger will make contact. Rotate the cord if you have to until it makes contact enough to charge it. Then once you get it on, maybe you can take it somewhere to get these parts replaced.
