Connecting HTPC to Surround Sound System

I was recently given a Surround Sound System which I am now trying to get connected to my HTPC. I have done some research regarding S/PDIF connections, but I'm not clear about how I should proceed. I want to go a cost-effective route without compromising audio quality.

What I'm working with:
-The receiver has a COAX IN, but my HTPC only has an Optical Out
-My HTPC is in a low-profile case
-My mobo has a 2-pin "HDMI_SPDIF" header (SPDIFOUT / GND)

Ideally, I think I need a low-profile Coax bracket with a 2-pin connector to install in my HTPC. However I can't seem to find this EXACT item... the closest I found was this, but the connector has an extra "+5V" wire that I'm unsure if it can be ignored (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=261133274115). Can someone verify if I can, and should, use this?

Other options I've come across are using an Optical to Coax converter (which costs a little more and I'm not sure if audio quality is affected), getting a low-profile soundcard with Coax output (but the cheapest I've found is about $80), or custom constructing a Coax output (but I'd like to avoid soldering anything if possible).

Please help :) Thanks!

You should be fine with the optical to coax converter. Check your mobos maker and see if the coax bracket will work. I use one with an Asus mobo. The only advantage in using HDMI for video AND audio will be if you are playing actual bluray discs on the HTPC with lossless multichannel audio.

Unfortunately it only has an HDMI out :( Its a little dated.

Apparently that item I showed is not available so Im getting one on a standard bracket, popping it out of the bracket, and ghetto rigging it inside the case. Real down n dirty, but itll do for now... so long as it works without that +5V pin.

Thanks guys for the feedback!
