Hi all,

I bought Bose Companion 20 speakers last year. They are good speakers but I have come across a serious issue which has robbed me of the joy of listening to music.
The audio pod (Volume Control) is behaving in erratic manner. The volume suddenly goes up and then goes down again to the extent that its inaudible. And this continues all the time. I used these speakers with much care but still I am facing this problem.
I live in Mumbai. Taking the speakers to a service centre is going to be a pain.

Any idea what may be wrong?

Solution
I can't be sure but it sounds like the volume control on the control pod is really an encoder switch which goes round and round rather than a regular volume control that has end points. When these go bad they are very erratic and do weird things. The only solution would be to replace the control pod. Contact the Bose and see if they will sell you one at a price that makes sense.
