Razer Megalodon Crackling

My Razer Megalodon sometimes makes a weird crackling noise. As far as i'm aware it happens randomly, whether i'm listening to music or playing a game. Its really annoying and really distracting. I have the latest firmware for the headset and have tried using different usb ports but the problem still persists. Any help would be appreciated.

is not it your sound card? I have the same problem, when I connect a headphone or a microphone, it makes some weird cracking noise.
try to update your sound cards driver

Its not the sound card because the headset has one built in.
