Hi,

I'm looking to buy a laptop and i was hesitating between two models, mostly because I don't know how good HP's laptop can be.

One is made by HP : (615 $)
http://www8.hp.com/ca/fr/products/laptops/product-detail.html?oid=6436578#!tab=features

and the other is made by Dell (580 $) :

If i get the HP's, I will benefit from 2 years warranty and a 6 cells battery (rather than 1 year warranty and 4 cells battery with Dell).

The laptop will be used for school work and Web browsing.

Any suggestion or comment will be very appreciated! Thanks

HP and dell are both very reputable comapnies. Anyway I would go with the HP because of the 6 cell and 2 year warrenty, also the HP will be a lot faster than the Dell because the HP has a better processor. Hope this helps :)

Edit: I too have owned an hp laptop for about 5 years and the quality is really supurb.

I've owned my Dell laptop for going on five years now. I've lost my internal wireless card and had one memory chip burn out, but other than that. It's just worked for me.

That said, and for the reasons the other posters have mentioned, I'd recommend the HP laptop. For doing just school work and web browsing, you'll probably never notice the performance differences between the two, but as a student, unable to recharge your laptop between classes, you'll need the extra battery cells the HP provides.
