need to reinstall windows 7, lcd broken will not boot to external sony vail VPCee23fx)

Solution
If your LCD is broken and your OS is dead, then your SOL.Considering this is a AMD Athlon II Dual-Core it sounds like a good time to get a new laptop that would be faster, cheaper then buying parts, and alot less headaches. You can seel this off as parts in the meantime.

Depending what you need this to do, entry basic usage of a PC can be had at Walmart for $249 i3 Laptops. A moderate level is a i5Core and those usually are $349-$399. For gaming mobily you can't do less then $600-700 and then your looking at i5 to i7 with a seperate video card installed.

So how is it that I use for two years an external monitor for my Acer with a broken screen and everything is displayed on the external monitor.

If you don't need to do anything with the BIOS, no problem.
I had an external attached to my Sony, and could not force the external to be the primary. Everything worked, I just couldn't see the BIOS on the external monitor.
