Connecting 5.1 Speaker system to PC

Hello guys! i would like to know if it would be possible to connect my JVC XV-THU1 to my PC in any way? and if so, how do i do it?

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it doesn't look like that JVC receiver has any kind of external inputs; I think you are probably out of luck.

If you have digital optical or coax output from computer sure or just use a 1/8 phone cable to an RCA (red and white) into your receivers inputs but you won't have 5.1 and the best you could do it Pro logic.

Would it work, if i connected my PC to my television via HDMI, and then use the ''TV-SOUND'' setting that comes with the JVC XV-THU1?

HDMI cables can carry audio and video however, I doubt that the audio signal is transmitted through your video card via HDMI as that is what you sound card is for. Order the 1/8" to RCA cable from Monoprice and be done with it. You will never get Dolby digital sound unless your computer can decode and output it.
