Crackle sound from 1 speaker when system OFF

If the speaker is self amplified then the noise may indicate a problem with the amp for that speaker. If so then when you unplug the speaker from it's ac power the noise would go away. A speaker cannot create a noise when there is no signal moving the speakers (creating a mechanical noise) it can only reproduce a noise feeding it.
