I bought a Creative Sound Blaster ZxR Sound card. I thought for audio mixing/monitoring. In order to use my recording interface (Tascam US-122) I have to use it's driver's and it's monitoring input instead of my sound card. So is there a way around this? is there a different interface I can buy? Did i just waste my money?

Thanks in advance.

Hello... if using ASIO driver... you can only have one device communicating... set to WDM I am told, for multiple hardware ins/outs... there are WDM/ASIO Programs/Patches out there, that will linked them in, i dont use them i'm 16x16 using Presonus ASIO driver... so i'm not good at that, but in Home Studios Forums, Tascam and Creative are Problematic and poor Driver Support choices, in equipment.

Hello... Your Tascam just needs to be plugged in with usb and drivers for your Windows version installed... You need to load/start A DAW program and get your Tascam communicating the INputs and Outputs... and your recording MUSIC through the MIC or Line inputs... http://tascam.com/product/us-122/specifications/
It has two Line level outputs to go to a AMP and Speakers... The Tascam is a Two channel Sound Card.
What are you try to do with the Creative? what is your interfacing delimma? or What are you expecting to get by using the Creative?

Hello... you can run/install multiple sound cards in Windows, and must set it to your needs by going to, Control Panel- Sound, This is for Windows... But in a DAW program you must set your Outputs to the Creative, seperate from Windows default... and you will have to connect headphones/speakers to the Creative Outputs, to hear your recorded music, from the DAW.
