Someone had gave me a Presario v2000 Notebook ]some time ago. Can't remember what was wrong with it, but I pulled it out.

I had the Smart Message at Start UP (about a possible disk failure)/ so I Ran the TOOL in the BIOS/ Said the HD was fine.

Besides Pressing the Fl to always boot/ and the DVD player didn't work or register in the Devive Manager; it was woking pretty smooth. It was just installing the last of some updates for Win 7
Then as I get up the HD falls out and I get a New Message at Start up that I can't Pass By(E):
_________________________________________________________________
For Realtek RTL8139(X)/8130/810X PCI Fast Ethernet Controller v.2.13 (020326)
PXE-E61: Media test tailure, check cable
PXE-M0F: Exiting PXE ROM.

This message flashes over and over
____________________________________________________________
Ater this message flashing all the time- I plug in the ethernet cable and get another Step farther but it doesn't go past this.:

CLIENT MAC ADDR: 00 16 36 66 8D (AND SO ON) GUID: A04562 (AND SO ON)
CLIENT IP: MASK: DHCP IP:
GATEWAY IP:
PXE-E32: TFTP open timeout
TFTP...

And this is all I get
__________________________________________________________________

So I'm wondering how to get around it(for now?)
I'm also not going to dismiss the problem that something might have got Shorted in the HD falling out and it still being ON!!!

In the BOIS TOOL(S)? / Appearantly Disk Check Tool is the only 1 available/listed. Which says No HD Found. (after using 3 total now that did work on this machine and I was about to eliminate the Original Smart Message with a new HD!

The Previous Smart Message before(that left)
That I thought was just a False Positive @ HD Failing, now show it does not see any HD!

But it did register 3 HD's prior; and said there were NO Errors. One that Eliminated the SMART message on Start UP that I was originally having.

In the BIOS I Can't seem to Disable the Network Adaptor-Nor Change the Nalues IN ANY OF the Advanced Options.
There's no Floppy on the Notebook> yet BOIS Lists Floppy/
BOIS Shows DVD Drive/ But it doesn't seem to have a Wroking One.
and this value for the Floppy can't be chaged? Nor the Network Adaptor???Thing.

Anyone's Expertice would be Greatly Appreciated
P.S.
Would/Could I do a BIOS Flash(NeverDone One before)
Reboot Windows Files from ???
I don't/can't boot from a USB/ I don't see USB in the BIOS BOOT options? DVD Don't Work!
I thought I might be able to reset some things with the CMOS Battery removed (except for the system time/ NO!)
(I'd send some Screen Snapshots if I can find way)

Solution
You don't need to disable network boot, you need to have the hard drive set as the boot priority─ but if the hard drive does not show up in the BIOS setup, then either the drive is bad or the connection on the laptop may be bad.

Thaks,
Great Answer,
I put a HD in and, suddenly, I'm back to the 1st Message again, about the SMART HD failure?

The last time I had the HD's in was before the crash: But able to bypass the message: SMART failure predicted on ...
After this Crash/ I removed the HD. All 3 did not boot or register.

Well, hopefully, one HD will boot up to the OS...

Thanks,

So I'm just going to check the HD again in the BIOS Tool()s. Again, Then SAFELY follow some procedures on Replacing the CMOS Battery, and securing things better before moving the Notebook around.

But I Seem to be by the PXE-E61 Stumper
And there's the Windows Screen that I Know and LOVE.
