Solution
#1 - Uninstall any unnecessary programs / games that you are not using / playing.

#2 - Defrag your hard drive. I use Defraggler instead of the default Windows utility

#3 - Download a program called CCleaner and use it to help clean the Windows Registry of any junk that may be causing the laptop to slow down.

#4 - Scan for viruses.

#5 - If all else fails then completely re-install Windows. Backup any important data on the C: drive 1st before doing so because they will be deleted.

Is your hard disk full? Do you have too many programs in the startup? Could be caused by an application you installed recently. You could use system restore and go back to a date before it became slow.

The simple solution would also be to reinstall Windows or use your recovery disks to bring the computer back to factory default.
