Hi everybody, any help at all with this issue will be appreciated, because I've hit a wall with Google.

I had a Sager Notebook with a fingerprint reader, and I created an encrypted archive with some of my important documents. It has a .uea extension, and as far as I can tell, it's only able to be opened with Protector Suite. The problem is, my laptop shorted, and though I recovered all of my documents, the .uea file is now unopenable. My replacement laptop does not have fingerprint scanner, and I cannot for life of me find a download of Protector Suite that will run on Windows 8.

I need a way to either convert the .uea file to some format that can be opened with software that will run on Windows 8, or I need some way to open the archive. I haven't found satisfactory answers elsewhere so I'm hoping I can find some here.

Thanks in advance for your time

Solution
Your .uea files can only be opened by Protector Suite, which is no longer produced, or supported. Your *only* hope is to get that hard drive to boot on an identical laptop, or repair the failed laptop. No other options.

I realize that, which is why I was asking about a place to find Protector Suite for Windows 8. Given that the laptop shorted without warning, nothing was backed up. However, everything that was on the harddrive is accessible.

I was afraid of that, thought I'd give it a shot though. Thank you.
