Dell xps is your answer as it comes with i5 with 3.2ghz which out performs the a10, I was personally gonna buy this laptop hp envy but decided to get an i7 with discrete NVidia graphics because the amd dual graphics stops to work after a while and the dell xps comes with NVidia graphics with gddr5 memory which out performs 2GB AMD Radeon™ HD 8750M Discrete by a long shot if you want a bang for your buck there area few suggestions listid below from hp and dell.

Thanks guys! My budget is around 800 USD. I want a computer which can play a lot of strategy games on high settings, like Command and Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars, Company of Heroes 1 and 2, RUSE, etc. Not many first person shooters.
I've also come across the Lenovo IdeaPad Y580 laptop (http://shop.lenovo.com/us/en/laptops/ideapad/y-series/y580/index.html#techspecs) it seems like a good computer. Do you think it's better than these laptops?

An i5 @ 3ghz or more will be fine as you do not play demanding games I would recommend

you can customize and buy if you want graphics ,ram.hard drive etc and spend the extra cash on upgrades such as a ssd

Hey its nice to help someone but I would like to disagree with construct as a ulv processor does not have sufficient speed you need a "M" processor as they are faster ,but if you want to go with constructs option its fine then you can spend more on a ssd which will give you better performance (a sata 3@120gb+ would be fine) as far as the ram try to get ddr3 or ddr3l ram as they will give good performance inaddtion to get the hp envy i5 version is my best opinion it comes with the 800 series of NVidia graphics which is worth every bit as they are 4th gen i5+6gb ram which is sufficient for you and you save a few hundred bucks to buy an ssd,i am giving a newegg link for a good ssd as well it is below.

btw ssd+i5+800m gpu+ram= the best you can get for 800 bucks I would though recommend spending 100 bucks more and getting -

this machine has upgradability to 16gb ram in the future and has a great processor with the 800 series graphics ,I will be buying this after I get money as this is a perfect machine .
I really hope you slecet my option as it has a lot to offer to you ..........................(I play command and conquer generals ,zerohour)
