Hello,

Please let me know if there are similar forum as this one. So my question is which anti-virus or other software that are much better for laptop. I meant that software that doesn't decrease, but also improve (if possible) the performance of a laptop.
So please take your time and think what you can answer. Dont be rash. Thank you.

My 20 years experience has seen the main 'pay for' models shoot themselves in the foot by trying to be the 'kitchen sink' of security and cause ALOT more problems then solve (Yes I am talking McAfee and Norton). Personally I found a simple effective AVAST! or AVG (both free) with a manual scan by a Malwarebytes every month is all the systems really need (over 20 personal ones for myself, family and friends I 'regularly' support).

NO ANTIVIRUS / Internet Security will 'improve' performance, by the very definition of 'scanning everything' the computer does WILL in someway IMPACT a system, as compared to a NAKED system (no protection at all). But the point isn't to 'improve' the system, it is to guard it from the milliseond to millisecond attempts to infiltrate and hammer it from any number of sources.
