Yesterday my friend told me he had deleted steam. He said he had done this because his mother had an IT "professional" examine his computer. Apparently this "professional" said that steam is a virus, my friend has also watched a YouTube video featuring another "professional" that backs up this claim. I know however that steam is total legitimate how do I explain this to him. I have already tried but he said "no it was an IT professional who knew his stuff".

i think steam is stupid. Not everyone is going to have the internet. I had to give away 5 steam games because
(A) I didnt know they needed steam (Some games didnt even mention it on the box, or its in to small of print that no-one can read it.) It should be mentioned on the front of the box. Not inside not in a tiny corner in the back. In normal sized letters.

(B) I can not afford internet. Not everyone has internet so it is unfair to the Non-Internet gamers who paid good money for the games.

(C) Steam needs internet to install the games. Which is not right. It is stealing from the people who actually bought the game.
And I have read on countless forums when i was at my sister's house (she has the net) that they had to go online everytime they ran the game to play it just in single player mode. Which is also not right, and in my opinion good money wasted for those without internet.

Therfore, I had to give away about $100-$200 worth of games because they need steam and the internet to run.

And those who are asking (How am i writing on this forum then?) I am at my sister's place right now. So since this is the way games are going now. I guess I have to say good-bye to gaming.

And yes there are some versions of Steam that is a virus. DL it from their site. Not from a downloader page. Then again I've read some Steam Accounts have been hacked recently to so... I guess I do not trust the main site either.

So i guess I will just have to code my own games to play. Good-bye gaming world. And I wish you Good luck because from here on... The gaming zone is going down hill.
