Hi,

I am having DAV-TZ230 sony 5.1 home theater (http://www.sony.co.uk/product/hcs-surround-kit---dvd-player/dav-tz230/manuals#tab) which is connected to LG LED tv (42LM615T) (http://www.lg.com/uk/tvs/lg-42LM615T-3d-tv). when i play any stuff using DVD player i get the audio from speakers of home theater but when i try to play any thing from TV i wasnt getting any thing from speakers.

This is what i have tried so far. Connected HDMI cable* and SCART (EURO AV) cable* connection from LED Tv to home theater. After which changed the setting in the TV to turn off the tv speakers so that audio can be played via home theater and kepy the option of TV selected from the function key of home theater remote but still no luck.

Can any one help me out as how to connect these two?

Thanks
P

Hi,

My Tv have optical digital output slot but when i had a look at the home theater i could find any input slot for optical stuff?

I have provided the links of my equipment for quick reference

Home theater: http://www.sony.co.uk/product/hcs-surround-kit---dvd-player/dav-tz230/manuals#tab
TV: http://www.lg.com/uk/tvs/lg-42LM615T-3d-tv

This is the reason i have connected using HDMI cable* and SCART (EURO AV) cable* as specified in home theater manual for quick setup.

Any suggestions ?

Your home theatre does not appear to have optical or coaxial audio inputs (or any audio inputs for that matter). I thought SCART cables were meant for output, not input (device to TV). However I could be wrong.

Thanks for the reply. Posted manual link below for home theater

http://

Method 2: HDMI cable* and SCART (EURO AV) cable* connection

Picture quality will be improved compared to Method 1. To listen to TV stereo sound via the system, also connect the SCART (EURO
AV) cable*.

This is what it said in the manual as above.

Am i missing anything up here?

Thanks,
P
