2.1 speakers for music

I have been stuck on which 2.1 speakers should I purchase. I am currently considering the Swan M50W but I'm not entirely convinced as I'm not sure if they are good value for their price range of around $350.

Could someone confirm whether or not they are good speakers for their price or whether there are better 2.1 speakers for around $350. The main focus will be for music not games, and they will be used in a small room.

Thanks

Hey there,

At your price point, you won't find a 2.0 set that will give you the kind of low end extension that a 2.1 set will give you.

As for the M50W's, I haven't heard them specially. But Swan makes good loudspeakers which are considered good buys for their price point, I assume that these would also be excellent speakers for the price too. In fact, sometime next year I was hoping to upgrade myself and these are on my list to look at.

Hmm are u set on PC/Multimedia speakers? Another option is simply quality 2.0 bookshelf speakers and a small amp? You can always add a seperate quality active subwoofer more suitable for a musical set up later ^^

My only concern with buying 2.0 speakers is that there wouldn't be enough bass, and I would have to purchase a subwoofer almost immediately which would cost more money then buying a 2.1. Do 2.0 speakers have any bass? And what are some universally recommended 2.0 speakers for around $350?
