Hi,
I'm not a gamer, but I just bought a hi-def video camera, and need a laptop that can handle editing the video. I'd like to get the best laptop I can for between $800-$1000, but I'm getting kind of overwhelmed by the options. I'd rather spend money on speed than touchscreen. I'd kinda like great screen resolution. I was looking at the Lenovo IdeaPad Y510p 59370005 a few hours ago, but I was kinda iffy after reading the reviews, and now they JUST jacked up the price within the last few hours.

What would you guys recommend?

Thanks, Alecia! I'm considering it, but...
My brother is my "tech guy", and he doesn't have much experience with Macs. He saves me a ton of downtime, though, so I try to work within his area of expertise. Any chance you know of a good non-mac option?
