Hi everyone,

With the sales looming this week I am looking for a laptop. Currently, I have a Sony Vaio from 2006 (yeah, that guy). My desktop HD 6770 and consoles serve me well though.

The question is should I make the jump and spend $800-$1000 on a laptop or slide into something around $550-$600 for light gaming and web surfing?

I don't do anything but web/streaming and playing some games. I figure anything 3d intense could be console or desktop and indie titles/point and click adventure could be laptop. I've just been out of the loop so long with laptops I don't know what is powerful enough etc.

Thanks!

Vishnu39,

Would you be able to help answer this question (laptop expert!)... I know it's apples to oranges but it will help me decide. If the desktop has a HD6770 which is a few years old, how does that compare to an ATI mobile or Nvidia mobile card? i.e. HD6770 = 7660G or 620M (just so I know I'm going in the right direction).

Thanks
