I have a choice between an AW17 with a gtx 765 and a Lenovo y510p with two gt750m's in SLI.

The primary purpose is gaming. I've never owned either brand before nor have I owned a gaming laptop. I'm only buying one because I've leaving home and my desktop (self assembled) is too big to move with me, especially since I'll probably be back in a year or less.

The price difference between the AW and the y510p is about 500 dollars on amazon. the y510 is approx 1100 and the AW is 1600.

I need advice on whether the AW is worth the extra money. In terms of performance on paper the y510 is averaging about 5 fps more than the AW, in some games more than 10. But I've heard bad things about laptops with SLI graphics, they're supposed to be horrible with heat dissipation and heavily dependant on drivers. I need something that will work, I don't have that much time to configure things.

The Alienware on the other hand is supposed to have a decent cooling system and is much easier to maintain with the fans directly exposed after removing 2 screws for the bottom panel. The y510p has 9 screws to remove and the fan is not directly exposed. It's going to be dusty where I'm going and maintainability is crucial. But then I've not heard the best things about Dell's reliability. There are so many horror stories about Dell laptops being lemons, I won't have access to service stations. I need something that will work and will last. Lenovo is supposed to be better in this aspect.

All in all I don't know what to do. Price isn't really a constraint though it would be nice to save a few bucks.

I'll be using this laptop in India. The only service stations remotely accessible will be lenovo and dell. I can't consider any other laptop brand. Its really irritating considering the other good choices out there
