Hi,

I've read a number of threads in various forums where people recommended using a HTPC with a semi decent GPU over media players such as the Dune Smart H1 or others as they say it produces a better quality image.

I've been playing around with a few uncompressed Blu Ray rips, playing them on my Dune H1 and on my i5 3570k GTX 780 PC to see if there is any picture quality difference and I'm sure my Dune is producing a more detailed, more vibrant image. I always thought this would be the case when I first started watching movies on my PC but I just got round to comparing the two. I get that what looks better to one person may not to another but I was surprised at this. I'm using MPC with madVR on the PC.

Has anyone else experienced anything similar with either the Dune or any other media player?

Are there any hardware solutions to improve video quality on a PC? I'd guess that would be the job of the GPU but are there any others? Any video processors or anything at all as I really don't want to go back to the Dune over the PC.

Also, are there any better remotes available for Dune players? Messing around with the Dune reminded just how bad the original remote is.

Thanks
