PC’s surround audio output is analog only. Receiver has no analog (or HDMI) surround inputs.

Win 7 PC with MSi Z77a-G43 mboard has onboard analog audio outputs (front, rear, ctr & subw). Don’t know if audio portion of onboard HDMI is usable as 6 monitors are connected to 2 Flex HD 6450 Sapphire graphics cards.

Kenwood VR-505 receiver surround inputs optical or coax digital (DTS, Dolby Digital, or PCM), but not 6-channel analog audio.

buy a cheap soundcard with spdif optical or spdif coax outputs.

that would be the easiest way to go about it.
