In common with many others, I have a query about how to connect my HTS to the TV so that I can have the TV sound coming from the HTS. I managed it previously with another (older) Sony LCD TV and the same DZ270 HTS, but I haven't been able to do it this time.

At the moment, I have the HTS connected to the HDMI (ARC) 1 terminal using a hi-speed HDMI with ethernet cable. However, this does not seem to have done the trick (presumably because the HTS is not ARC compatible??).
I was able to get TV sound through the HTS by connecting the headphone out from the TV to the audio in of the HTS. However, to get sound from the TV speakers again I had to go into the TV settings and select TV speakers rather than Audio. There must be an easy way of getting TV sound through the HTS or TV speakers, but I haven't found it yet. Any suggestions gratefully received.

Managed to sort the issue for anyone else that has a similar problem.
The DVD player of the HTS was not ARC compatible, so I connected it via one of the other HDMI ports.
Sound was connected to the HTS via the headphone out socket using a 3.5mm jack to 2xRCA adapter to the audio in of the HTS. With the HTS switched on, the TV mutes itself and the TV sound plays over the HTS.
