It came to my attention that the firefox performance dropped to 0 the last 2 months. The loading speed is fine but when i scroll/move down i have something like a lag/shutter effect, but on the other side Chrome/IE works fine,

I read somewhere that this happening from Windows 8/Avast. Is that true? What i can do to fix it?

Make sure you have the latest version which is 25. However, I have used Firefox with Win 7 and XP and on both, it takes a while to open. The good thing I like about Firefox is the complete control of cookies, but I have serious doubts if they are really working as they should. I often find that opening book marks is very slow. The popup blocker does not always work. I suspect that the cause of slow response is built in invisible spyware. I do not use Firefox any more.
