My Toshiba Satellite L745-S4126 doesn't turn on, and when I try to charge it, the area to the left of the mousepad becomes hot to the touch. Also, the charging light is glowing, so it's probably not a power cord problem. Also, I've tried removing the battery and that didn't work. Does anyone know what the problem is?

Solution
My best guess is you have cooked the power input circuit on the m/b. Sadly, I think you're going to need a shop visit.

If the trackpad area is getting hot with the battery in and the charger hooked up, chances are you have a bad battery with an internal short that is causing the heat.

If you cannot boot (or get lights on the laptop) with the battery removed and the charged hooked up, you may have cooked the m/b with the bad battery.

The trackpad area still gets hot without the battery and the lights still appear with or without the battery.
