Hey there , i am considering saving up for a Macbook Pro 13 Inch.
These are the specs:

2.8GHz Dual-core Intel Core i7, Turbo Boost up to 3.3GHz
8GB 1600MHz DDR3L SDRAM
512GB PCIe-based Flash Storage

I want to use it for School mainly and General Browsing.
The only game i really play is Minecraft so i think it should be fine.

What do you guys think??

Sounds good.

Most people hate Apple products since they are considerably more expensive than equivalent hardware from other vendors.

What they seem to fail to realize is that Apple products typically have a lot more NRE costs associated with it to ensure better build quality, and substantially lower weight...

I think since you are just doing school work and nothing intensive then why spend so much? You can get a better laptop for cheaper or the same price because macs are over priced. Are you open to getting a windows laptop? Maybe put mac osx on it. Budget?

Cheaper and more performance. You can game on this thing and do lots of stuff.
Why do you need a pcie ssd? This one has 2 ssd's in raid 0 so very fast

If you value build quality, portability and battery life over raw performance, then I would go for the mac book pro.

Right now there is a known bug in the keyboard in the 13" mbp retina, so I'd wait for them to resolve that before buying.

I do value those things over raw performance :p (My current laptop looks like it will just fall a-part)

I do not plan to get it till next yr so they should of fixed it by then!

I value the portability aspect of a laptop rather than having my laptop have dual SSD's in RAID 0. I am not going to be using my laptop for any high-performance applications... that is what my remote desktop/server is for. My laptop is meant as a thin client, not a somewhat portable powerhouse that is probably going to a) fall apart and/or b) cause back problems due to the weight.

The only other laptop I think comes close out there to what I am looking for is the Thinkpad X1 Carbon... but Lenovo ruined that for me with the botched launch.

I got a 13 inch MacBook pro, but it's for school. I mean theres nothing wrong with the mac. I can multitask just fine with the i5 core and I can play Minecraft around.. 40-120 FPS (depends on the server). But yes, If your going to be gaming, Definatly get a PC. Macs really aren't meant for gaming (Minecraft works just fine though). Photoshop on this computer runs FANTASTICALLY btw.

I Have the exact model of computer you wanted. Mac pro 13 retina, i7, 2.8 blah blah, and I must say I love it! I have always had PCs in the past because they are "cheaper" but cheaper means CHEAPER. They aren't as powerful even if they are running the same speeds. Mac speed is like PC speed on Speed!
I am using my for sound processing, sound development and creation, running a lot of high demanding programs at once and There is never a lag.
If you want a computer to be "dirty" with, downloading torrents and all the rest I would get a PC. If you want a computer for cleanliness and overall performance! Go with this one!
I actually kept my PC for downloading and storing un clean files, but my Mac is definitely my baby!
