Hi, I have currently got some TRITTON AX180s which I have had for a few months maybe a year. One of the ear cups has just snapped off and is dangling by a wire now making them unwearable. The sound still works but I cannot wear them. I asked my dad if he could fix them and he tried using super glue but because it is plastic and the part was a special part that made it swivel that snapped off it didn't work and he advised buying a new headset. Here is a picture: http://img43.imageshack.us/img43/5246/ifn1.jpg

Now I bought these originally for the PS3 but now I am a PC gamer, Before them I had a pair of P11s, 2 in fact and they both broke within months of buying them so I went to TRITTONs they were good. Because I don't really play the PS3 anymore I would like to buy a PC gaming headset, After some research (I don't really like the new turtle beaches or trittons) I thought the razer kraken pro looked quite nice. But after I just checked the net it seems there are many other brands which do headsets like steelseries.

My price range is £40-70. I'm looking for a decent stereo headset with a microphone which works with PC. I also do like bass so if it has bassy speakers that's not a problem. The only thing I have found is that with some headsets for pc they do not have in-line control, I think I can get away with just using the computer settings to adjust the voice and game volume.

But another thing I thought of is that on my audio drivers (Realtek) I have an equalizer set and I would only like that to be on the games, The trittons did this by using the voice through USB and the game through the 3.5mm jack. With the razer im guessing the voice and game would be on the same sound device and both be equalized which is not what I want. Maybe there is a way to separate them. Also another thing my trittons had was mic monitoring which let me hear my voice which I got used to but I think it will be ok if the PC headset doesn't have that.

So I'm asking you guys to recommend me some headsets which are in the £40-70 price range and are stereo, Think that's really it.

If you need to ask me anything, I will answer.

Thanks!

steelseries siberia V2 might be a good fit. it's within your budget and is relatively bass heavy. bass isn't muddied or drawn out like others in its price range. i'd rank it above the kraken honestly.

the mic retracts into the earcup too which is nice if you just wanna watch a movie or listen to music.

happy listening :)

Hi, Yeah I was looking at the steelseries siberia and think I will probably get them, however when I type it into amazon.co.uk many different year versions come up, there is a frost blue 2013 model for £80 then a few 2009 and 2010 models for £60. Does it matter which model I choose? Should I look for newest like 2011-12-13? I think this one looks good: http://www.amazon.co.uk/SteelSeries-Siberia-FullSize-Headset-Microphone/dp/B003N636VI/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1383597226&sr=8-2&keywords=steelseries+siberia+v2

Thanks again :)

hey andrew - yeah most of those models you see are just different colored varieties. the only model that should be different price wise is their multiplatform one. its confusing since they don't really change much about the name, just the price. they make one model that will work with pc / ps3/ xbox360, which is more than the standard pc-only version. hope this helps!

Hi again, I was going to get the Steelseries siberia v2 but my parents said they could not find them in Currys (despite that I did see them online) and asked me about the Corsair 1500.. What's the difference?

Edit: I have now got them, the 7.1 works great and makes games feel amazing. Right now I have 2 problems, 1) The bass in music isn't great, no where near Tritton level 2) It's only USB connection means I will never be able to use it with PS3. I hardly use the PS3 now a days but when I did it would be nice to use the headset with an adapter.. Is there a way I can geet a adapter which takes in a USB then puts out a 3.5mm jack and a usb? Or something that can change USB to the green and pink jacks? Becuase I still have my line in from my trittons which uses a green and pink.

Thanks again!
