Why does MS office 2013 cost so much more for disks?

Hello... There is a Pretty Box and Pretty printed paper with the DVD purchase... But you should have seen what OFFICE PRO used to cost years ago!!! $400+ Your getting some great powerful classic set of programs with OFFICE PRO.
Yes, if you Do a Download of a ISO, you can create a DVD with it for BackUP... The main thing you need to Buy is a Legal activation code, and you can download a ISO from any where.
Microsoft has ISO Downloads and allows 30-day free trial on all their Software...
