I own a brand new TV, brand new laptop and 13 years old surround reciever. Would it be possible for me to playback surround sound by connecting the laptop throug HDMI to the telly, then througput optical audio from telly to reciever? Is there any risk that my TV does not support audio througput like that? (the tv is a cheap model, but new. It does have optical output)
