Hello everyone, I'm new here but I have been learning from tomshardware forums for about 6 months.
I'm getting a new laptop for university work and entertainment reasons. The only game which I play most is CS:GO and CS 1.6. I'm currently looking at this laptop http://www.galaxy.com.pk/hp-pavilion-15-E053SE-core-i5.html (I'm from Pakistan and can't use amazon, newegg etc)

It has 4 GBs DDR3 RAM
Core i5-3230m
HD 8670m

So my question is that can I run CS:GO on high settings at native resolution with good FPS? and if possible tell me the number of fps. And if I plan to connect it via HDMI to a 1080p monitor will it give me 60 or higher fps?

Thanks all in advance :)

Solution
i used to play cs:go on my laptop with a gt540m which is the same as the gt630m at native 720p. got a mixture of settings (most at high, only shadows at low cause they pull the fps heavy down) and stayed always above 60fps except on militia cause of the trees. dialed them down to medium-high settings and shadows low and got 80+ on every map.
hope this helps you to decide

If you connect to a 1920 x 1080 monitor , I highly doubt you will get 60 FPS on high. But if you don't , you should be able to get 30+ FPS on Med - High Settings. The CPU is good , but the GPU not so much. Try to find a laptop with a GT 640M

There are currently 2 models with GT 640M are available here and they are overpriced as hell. On the other hand a friend of mine told me he is getting upto 120 FPS with medium settings with HD 7670m the difference between these two cards is not so much. What do you say?

I don't really believe " your friend "

there are 2 versions of the HD 7670M , one DDR3 and GDDR5. The GDDR5 one is better , but the GT 640M GDDR5 beats them all

This should help

the HD 7670M DDR3 is about 10% worst than the GT 630 DDR3
but it's the other way round when it's the HD 7670M GDDR5

So should I save more money and go for that 80k laptop with GT640M? and I just want to tell you that I don't play any other high graphics games like Crysis 2 , Battlefield 3. I might play Stronghold 3 but fps doesn't really matter in RTS games.

I had plans to build a gaming PC but now I'm thinking to get a laptop since I'm not a hardcore gamer, I just play CS:GO so in my opinion it doesn't worth to build a gaming PC just for the sake of CS:GO and my current laptop is nearly at its end. DVD ROM dead, some keys don't work, slow as hell (takes about 10 mins to load CS 1.6 -_-) . But thanks for your help.
