Desktop Screen Recorder

Does anyone know of a software application (free or $) that can be installed on a computer and will record the desktop screen? Windows 7 (64bit)

If it could record right to the harddrive of that computer and possibly auto-remove a recording if it is more than a certain number of days old.

I've written an application that a user can weigh in loaded trucks and weigh out the empty. Some situations data may not be saved or saved incorrectly. When this happens, I'd like to look back at that specific time frame to see exactly what was on the screen and user actions when it happened. I'm trying to determine if it is a user issue or application issue. They tell me one thing on the phone after it's happened and I'd like to see for sure if that is what happened.

I don't want to put up an ip camera facing the computer if I don't have to.

Keep in mind...it would be nice if it auto started as soon as the computer was turned on. I don't want any user interaction. If there is an overlay on the screen that says it is recording...that is fine.

Thanks,

Nick

Thanks for the reply. I did see this in a google search. Like you said, not exactly what I was looking for.

I've found some other programs that kind of fit the bill. But they either kind of lag the system or record 24/7 until it is stopped.

I was hoping there was an app that would start automatically and after everyone make a new recording. I could then delete old ones after a few days. I didn't want any user interaction. Will keep on searching.
