Hey all,

I'm looking for a Gaming laptop for about 2000$ AUD. One that comes with GTX 780M and with the option to one day add another 780M (or something else by that time).

I've been thinking about buying a PC and been browsing these forum, here is something that I've made from a previous post. I've changed it a bit to make it fit with Laptops and not Desktops.

Location: Australia

Budget: Around 2000$ AUD

Purpose: Purely gaming, Internet browsing and watching downloaded movies as well but nothing to do with 3D rendering.

What will it be connected to: Not a monitor. This computer will sit next to the TV (50" Full HD) and connect to it via HDMI and be remote controlled with wireless keyboard and mouse.

What games do I want to play: Battlefield 4, Titanfall (specs have not been announced), The Division (specs have not been announced), Assassin Creed 4, Dragon Age Inq, Watch Dogs and the likes. I know most of these game's requirements have not been published.

How well do I want to run those games: I'd love to say Ultra settings but would settle for High as well.

Possible future upgrades: Would like to run dual Graphic Cards one day.

Preferred companies: I've came to learn that it is better to go with Nvidia and Intel.

Overclocking: To be honest, I’m not sure I completely understand what it means. Sort of like putting your PC on steroids?

Heating / Noise: Avoid both but not going to let it burn a hole in my budget.

Size of Hard Drive: I was thinking 750GB would do.

Internet connection: Ill need it to have wireless built in.

SSD: I’ve learned they’re not important for gaming PCs but I don’t mind putting one in if it will make the PC faster. Cheap one would do right?

Processor: I understand i5 and i7 don’t make a difference for gaming but since its the future, shouldn’t I go with i7?

DVD / Blue Ray: Don’t care for it. Since these days you can digitally download every game from Steam or Origin.

Operating system: Ill need to buy one. I’ve understood Win 8 doesn’t give you a boost in gaming but since its the future of Microsoft, shouldn’t I opt to go with it? I’ve also heard 8.1 does a good job improving it.

Size and Weight: Its more of a desktop replacement so doesnt matter to me.

Backlit keyboard: Would be nice, def' not a must.

Anyone got any models that fit this? One that now has a 780M and that one day I can add another.

Thank you all very much!

thats possible. the site i looked at had similar options but it was the starting price that was the shocker. they want 3k for the bare bones with 1 gfx card. upgrade-ability is the reason for the high starting price. because there selling you something that has to be over engineered out the gate.

the falcon dxr for instance ships with 2 765m's and costs nearly 3 and a half grand. swap em out for a pair of 780ms and your looking at over 4.2k

very few laptops have sli capability and the 1s that do tend to ship with 2 cards in them already... also be prepared for a shock there way outside your budget for the 1s that support the 780m. starting at $3k+

Yeah I saw Alienware and Meatbox and the likes.. A lot of them do come with SLI already installed.
Though in Affordablelaptops.com.au I can customize the Laptop and with a drop down menu can choose single or dual GPU.

So, those laptops are SLI enabled, but I can choose to just buy it with 1 780M and in the future, add another one?
