I' trying to sell my MSI GT70 Gaming laptop, bought it last year in May. I wanted to know what would be a reasonable price range to sell it for.

$2800 brand new? Well sadly PC parts in particular lose a crap ton of their value the moment they are opened/first turned on. I'd say as long as its in great shape you could probably get about half of your money back. ~6 months old, close to $300 in SSDs (Refurbed Price) not to mention 16 GB of ram coupled with Bigfoot Network card. I'd say to the right buyer $1500 would be doable.
