Connecting Two Receivers

I have two receivers, an Onkyo HTS3500 which is conencted to 5 speakers and a subwoofer. I also have a Sony STR AV570 receiver with 4 speakers connected to it. I was wondering how and if it is possible to connect the two so that they would play simultaneously and be controlled through one source.

Is there a way to do this? And/or if I bought this mixer would it work?

You could connect the speaker B output of the Onkyo to the Sony receiver using a speaker to line level adapter such as this

I am not sure what you are trying to accomplish with this arrangement if all the speakers are in the same room. If would just confuse the surround sound balance but it would allow you to use one volume control to adjust them all. The Sony volume control would set the level of the four speakers connected to it relative to the Onkyo speakers and then the Onkyo would control the overall volume. You would have to be careful not to overload the Sony which would cause possibly destructive distortion.

Does any of these receivers has a "Zone 2"? Or "Monitor out" - these are the signals to route from one receiver to the other so they will share same input source.

As for "Controlling" - I suppose you will still need two separate remotes, at least for volume control.
