Upgrade from 7670m to 740m?

I'm providing links to both the setups. Thing is one comes with a10+7670M and another with i3 3227U+GT740M. Now that the i3 is a ULV component, so would it bottleneck or be able to run next gen games?

And the if the sony VAIO costs $80 more, would it be worth to upgrade??

Neither one is really good for games, but the Sony would be a bit faster than the HP. I'd upgrade a step or two over that system, laptops are mostly impossible to upgrade, you'd want to get the best you can now. If you want one for gaming, get something with an i5 CPU and at least that 740M video card.

This would cost $162 more than my current setup

The i3 is a lower end CPU for gaming, the i5 in that sony you linked is a lot better. It comes with a 740M video card which is OK, about midrange for gaming cards on laptops. It will run newer games but at lower settings (Medium for most, some on High depending on the game). I'd feel OK to get that, if you can stretch a bit, you should try to get another step up in video cards, a 750M possibly, but if this Sony is all you can purchase, it would run games pretty well.
