I was given a speaker system (http://www.vmaudio.com/?product=exms581) and i but the problem is that for the aux option only two of the five speakers and the sub work. The only way the full surround sound works is if you have 6 RCA cables going into it. I was wondering if there was any way i would be able to hook this up to my pc to get the full 5.1 surround sound, or if that's not possible if there was any way to even get all of the speakers to work with my pc or usb...

Any help is appreciated. Thanks

first you need a soundcard which supports 5.1 which is going to have three 3.5mm connectors

green: front left/front right
yellow: center/subwoofer
black: rear left/rear right

you will then need 3.5mm to rca splitters.

you can find a pinout diagram for 3.5mm stereo audio fine but i couldnt find one for the other channels.

the other two cables should be similar.

the red rca connector should be hooked up to the right channel on the 3.5mm so this can aid you in hooking things up.
