Hello all!

I've recently finished building my first PC, and the last thing I need is a good headset. I'm going to be using it primarily for gaming and music. I listen to a TON of music so sound quality is important to me. But so is nice bass for gaming, so I was hoping to find a nice balance between the two.

The most I'm looking to spend is around $80, and I've found a few pairs that seem like good buys, but I figured I'd ask for opinions here before ordering.

The three I've been looking at are;

Rosewill RHTS-8206 USB Connector 5.1 Channel Vibration Gaming Headset (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826193069)

Logitech G35 USB 2.0 Connector Surround Sound Headset
(http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826104281)

SteelSeries Siberia V2
(http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826249083)

I've never owned a headset before which is why I'm kind of torn between the three. I figured for immersion the 7.1 Headset would be best, which is why I included the Rosewill headset. It's only 5.1 but it has a virtual 7.1 channel and the vibration gimmick which would add to the immersion.
But from what I've read, as far as audio quality goes, the Siberia headset takes the cake, but it's only stereo so I don't know what to think about that.

I should also probably add that I am using the onboard sound for my motherboard, which I'm guessing will make a difference.

Any help or recommendations would be absolutely fantastic.

I've also been researching headsets. Of the ones you've listed, the Logitech and Steelseries are better than the Rosewill from what I've read. The Steelseries has 50mm drivers while the Logitech is only 40mm, so you'll probably get better bass (and explosions in games) with the Steelseries.

That said, the consensus in most circles is to purchase a good quality set of headphones rather than a gaming headset because the sound quality is far,far better for the same money. Since you mentioned music I thought I'd bring that up

If you want virtual surround sound in games, snag the Razer Surround software while it's free (until January 1st). This software will add virtual surround to games using any stereo headset...

Here is an excellent set of entry level studio headphones that many recommend:
http://www.amazon.com/AKG-240-Semi-Open-Studio-Headphones/dp/B0001ARCFA/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1382103241&sr=8-2&keywords=akg+240

If you need a mic, then you can add a Zalman clip on mic for cheap.

Thanks for the reply! I do have one more question though. Without a dedicated soundcard, would the AKG-240 headphones be going to waste?
