Hi everyone,
I am trying find a laptop for my mother's grain elevator company. Grain elevators are dusty places, so one of the top requirements is ruggedness, and durability, even when exposed to dust. The employees using the laptops will only be running some basic Microsoft Office programs, and a couple of accounting programs. I was just hoping someone out there knew of a decently priced laptop that works well when it gets a little abused. Thank you.

The toughbooks seem a bit overkill to me. I'm sure it would probably do what you need and more, but it seems a bit much for a word processor.

Maybe look for something with sturdy construction but also that doesnt have huge air vents. You won't really need much of a cooler for word processing, so you can probably get something really thin that, by it's very design, doesnt have much room for dust. Think something like an ultrabook..as long as it's sturdy of course. It won't be able to match the toughbook for sturdiness, so of course don't drop it.
