Hello

The question is simple... I want to know how to create subtitles for my video and save it in srt format..
Which software i need to use to accomplish this.?

Software should be like i import video and start typing the subtitles then sync them with vocals using slider or time adjustment.

Thank you

Here's one from Tom's Guide (http://www.tomsguide.com/us/download/subtitle-creator,0301-6618.html). It is Subtitle Creator 2.06. It may be worth checking out. Version 2.3 RC1 is available for download here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/subtitlecreator/

I'm not sure about a program for creating subtitle files, but subtitles are easy to create with nothing but a plain-text editor, though it can be time consuming. For example, here's the beginning of a .srt file for an episode of Star Trek:

1
00:00:05,800 --> 00:00:09,200
Captain's log, Stardate 1513.1.

2
00:00:09,200 --> 00:00:12,600
Our position-- orbiting planet M-113.

The first and fifth lines specify chronological order numerically. The second and sixth lines specify when the subtitle begins and then when it ends. The third and seventh lines specify the actual content of the subtitles.

I'm positive there's actual programs out there with a GUI and some means of simplifying the process, but regardless this can be quite helpful and I've made a few subtitles in this manner in the past.
