Friends recently i purchased Dell R15 -5537 (touch) laptop. The H/w is Intel i5 4200u processor, with integrated Intel HD Graphic 4400, 6GB RAM,Windows 8.My question is can I play 3D games with this config. If yes pl enlist few popular ones for me.

Solution
I tested a few games on my Lenovo Y470 (i5-2410m, 1366x768) with the GT 550m disable, thus relying on the Intel HD 3000.

I was able to play Fallout 3 with a mix of low and medium graphic settings. However, you need to Google around for the D3D9.dll file that was originally meant for Oblivion under the "Oldblivion Project". Without it the game will not detect the Intel HD 3000 graphics core. Since Fallout 3 came out after Oblivion you should be able to play that as well. Fallout: New Vegas is based on the same game engine as Fallout 3 so you should be able to play that as well. I could never get around finishing Oblivion, I simply lost interest in that game. I like Morrowind (it's predecessor) a lot more; oh well... $40 wasted...

I was able to complete Mass Effect 3 and all the DLCs on insanity so that game will also run with the more powerful HD 4400. Another BioWare game that can be played is Dragon Age: Origins.

King's Bounty: Armored Princess is also playable, but for whatever reason sometime the text dialog is distorted on a 1366x768 screen.

The most recent game that I decided to test out on the Intel HD 3000 is Skyrim. I takes a bit of coaxing though on the Intel HD 3000 like no shadows, no grass, 1280x720 resolution and some other tweaks and mods. However, the HD 4400 should be capable of providing decent frame rates by default without having to make a lot of tweaks like I had to with the Intel HD 3000 graphics core. I can generally get 25FPS - 35FPS in Skyrim outdoors. It sometimes peaks at 45FPS, but can also dip down to around 12FPS. Indoors generally provide better frame rate; peak would be 60FPS and maybe dips around 20FPS from what I can remember.

I would say the Intel HD 4400 is roughly 40% - 45% more powerful than the Intel HD 3000.
