A few questions regarding software

I just finished my first build and started loading all software last night. After W7 and Steam I started with the extras.

MotionJoy - PS3 controller
Utorrent
Xpadder - software for controller
Malwarebytes
Ccleaner
Cpu-Z
HWMonitor

I DL xpadder from Pirate Bay. Somewhere along the lines Blekko inhabited my pc. No matter what I did I could not get rid of it redirecting on Chrome. Ran malwarebytes, MS essentials, HiJackThis, and checked everywhere I could. No dice.

I've already started a restore so starting from scratch, what program should I avoid so I do not pick up Blekko again?

What is a safe torrent program?

Any other advice on what to use for downloads, torrenting, etc would be appreciated!

xpadder - get it from the actual site, http://xpadder.com/

And for future reference, any torrent with an exe is considered suspect and probably contains a virus/trojan/malware.
Do not do that.

I just find it weird on my old pc I did the exact same thing with no issues. Oh well.

Any opinions on Eset Smart Security? Newegg has it for a good sale without any rebate. I'm sure I could get another software for free, but would need to deal with a mail in rebate.

Last time you were lucky, and didn't torrent the "Added Virus Version". Don't torrent anything with an exe in it, and don't torrent anything you can get from the actual publisher.

As far as Eset Smart Security? No idea...never used it.
