Using TV as monitor, no sound from sound bar

When I use my TV regularly, the sound bar works. The TV's internal speakers are on, but it also sends the signal to the sound bar so normally I mute the TV and control the sound with the sound bar.

I have my desktop plugged into the TV via HDMI, but only the internal speakers work. This is what my playback devices dialog looks like - http://d.pr/i/w28F . Is there a way to make this work?

Thanks.

First of all, some or all TV's allow you to disable the audio in the TV setup for the main speakers and just output to the soundbar.

If you are getting sound to the TV's internal speakers from your PC then the issue has to do with how your SOUNDBAR is setup and NOTHING to do with your PC (obviously you used NVidia HDMI as the audio source).

I don't know how your SOUNDBAR is setup but that's what you need to investigate since the audio is obviously coming in via the HDMI connection.

Troubleshooting:
Does a DVD player send sound to the SOUNDBAR on the SAME connection used for the PC?
