I'm not sure either is ideal for 2D or 3D animation. I'm a Premiere Pro user but for anything I would animate I use After Effects. For creation of 2D and 3D animation something like 3ds Max or Maya from Autodesk (http://www.autodesk.com/) would be better. Part of it depends on how complex your animations are going to be.

Hello

I mean which is better to put to film, the final process not using it to render 2D or 3D but to use it to make a movie with.

I've had limited experience with Vegas so I'm not the best person to comment on it. However, I have been using Premiere Pro for years and use it for just about all of my projects (have Avid Media Composer as well but haven't taken the time to learn it yet). One advantage of Premiere is the way it works with After Effects and Photoshop.

Another alternative to consider is Lightworks - http://www.lwks.com/
The Pro version is $60 per year.

You're welcome. No, I'm not from Cincinnati but have been a lifelong Reds fan. I have been to Riverfront Stadium and Great American Ball Park to see them play.
